My Nightly Skincare Routine

I wanted to share with you my current night time beauty routine because I think it is the most important part of your day. I know that it can be hard to clean your face every night but trust me, you’re going to regret it in the long run if you don’t. I have struggled with acne for about 15 years and now that my skin has finally calmed down I am learning that it is more sensitive. I was always using some kind of acne product on my skin but still getting breakouts. I have tried everything and the products I have listed below are the ones that are working for me now! I am so happy to say that my acne has calmed down a ton! I don’t have nearly as much breakouts as I used to. With this said, what works for me may not work for you. Everyone’s skin type is different and reacts differently to products so don’t get mad at me if these products aren’t for you! I also believe that it is good to switch up your products once in awhile. For example, I sometimes have pretty oily days so I will use a normal/combination cleanser that day. If you have any reactions to products such as breakouts, redness or a ton of burning I would definitely try something different. I hope some of these products work for you like they do for me!

Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse– Not a lot of people know this but you should always ┬átake your makeup off before you use your CLEANSER! I didn’t know this for a long time and it was probably a major cause of my breakouts. Cleansing your face doesn’t remove ALL of the dirt, oils and makeup from your face. You need a product that will take all of that off so that your cleanser can get in there and work its’ magic. So you put this on (which smells amazing), let it sit for a little bit and then I like to take a really warm towel and lay it over my face for a few seconds before I wipe it all off.

Rimmel Eye Makeup Remover– I honestly think it is pointless to spend more than $5 on eye makeup remover. They all do the same thing, so don’t waste your money. This Rimmel makeup remover works just fine for me!

Bare Minerals PURE PLUSH Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam

I got this cleanser as a Christmas list and I was really excited to try it. I have never used a gentle cleanser because I always thought I needed something harsh for my acne. I must say it is my new favorite cleanser. It lathers really well and you just need the tiniest amount so this will last forever. It has a very light scent, nothing too powerful and it seems to be cleansing my skin well since my breakouts have basically stopped.

Clarisonic Mia 1

I love having a Clarisonic because it is great for deep cleaning your skin. It is great for all skin types, just pick out the brush that is right for you. Again, I need to use a more gentle brush than I have been doing because I noticed my face drying out when I used the one for acne. You will also want to remember to change the brush out about every 3 months. I use my Clarisonic about 1-2 times a week. I wouldn’t use it every day because there is such a thing as over exfoliating your skin and it could become really dry or cause breakouts.

Dermalogica Clear Start Hydrating Lotion

It is so important to use a moisturizer even if you have oily skin. You want to keep your face hydrated to help slow down the aging process. This hydrating lotion by Dermalogica is a great moisturizer. It is very light and effective and great for soothing the skin for people who have acne. It includes Ginger, Orange and Grapefruit to soothe and protect the skin.

Younique Uplift Beauty Serum

This Younique uplift beauty serum is so great! It helps smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and is super hydrating. This also lasts forever. I have had mine for about a year and it’s still half full. It is great for around the eyes, forehead and even stretch marks. It is an oil but it won’t clog your pores. Younique is a great company that uses all natural ingredients, is cruelty free and helps fight against sexual violence.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is great for blemishes. I will put it on when I feel one starting, and it either doesn’t pop up, or it is significantly smaller. It doesn’t dry your skin out either. I have used so many topical treatments form the Dermatologist and they would always make my skin peel. This doesn’t do that. It is very gentle but effective.

It Works! Exfoliating Peel– Sometimes I feel like there is so much dead skin and nastiness on my face that I need a peel to get it all off. I love this exfoliating peel by It Works! It uses all natural ingredients to gently remove excess oil, dead skin cells and pore-clogging debris. I use this about once every 2 weeks. You could use it more if you don’t use any other exfoliators, but I use this one below as well….

Bioelements Kerafole Mask

This mask is my lifeeeee!! I seriously cannot even explain how amazing this Kerafole mask by Biolements is. It is a deep exfoliator and gets impurities out of your skin. This is great for acne and acne scars. I love how it smells, it goes on smooths and just makes your skin look revitalized. I love it so much. I use it about 1-2 times a week.
